Welcome to the Jacksonville Japanese School!
The Jacksonville Japanese School (JJS) was founded in September, 2011 by a small group of Japanese parents who desired their children to learn the Japanese culture and education here in Florida.
Currently there are about 80 students attending JJS including Adult students. The school only operates for three hours on 37 Saturdays throughout the year except, in the summer. The Japanese government supports JJS by providing partial financial assistance for the operation of the school.
The curriculum consists of Japanese language (3 periods) and each period is 45 minutes long for Pre-K to 8th) The adult Japanese class is for 120 minutes and the youth class is for 90 minutes and the mommy and me class is for 75 minutes. The adult class was first established in 2014 for our parents who desire to learn the language. We now welcome anyone who has an interest in learning about our language and culture. More information on our curriculum is available on the Programs page and more on prices and rates on the Admissions page. We do offer a free trial class for anyone interested. Please email us at [email protected] for further information.
The JJS hosts various cultural events such as a fall festival and World of nations celebration.
